The issue at the root of a “Mode” error message can be solved by navigating to the folder where you have installed your Birchfield software. By default, this is located at C:\Program Files\Birchfield. Within this folder, there will be one or more sub-folders named BCDS00, followed by a three figure number and the letters LK, IS or IL. Within these BCDS folders, you will find a variety of different file types. Set the properties of every file ending with the file extensions .exe, .dxr and .cxt to read only by right clicking and choosing properties at the bottom of the contextual menu, then choosing the read only option. Please repeat this procedure for every BCDS folder, then re-run your software.
